My mom is quiting her job because of the stress it causes her, she says she will get a part time job when the holidays are over (she is a nurse). I am not concerned financially, my dad makes enough money for my family, i just feel like im losing a part of my 'normal' life. I would say that i am always kind of depressed when big changes like this happen, and want to know how to stop feeling sad when something changes.

My sister also takes change very hard. She gets so set in to her daily routine that when something big changes she has a hard time adjusting.
I think that as you (and she) age, you'll come to realize that some changes aren't good nor bad. Your mom quitting her job won't upset your routine very much. I don't know how my sister deals with change, but she's definitely gotten better at adjusting more quickly. I think it's just something that will come to you with time. You could just try to keep telling yourself that it's not a bad change and that there will be no direct consequences on what you consider "normal". |

I also get really nostalgic over things, i hate replacing something with something new, i would rather keep the same old stuff then get new things.

My mom lost her job due to the company moving several months ago and yes, it was a change. At times, an annoying one.
I think we all love our parents for the most part, but sometimes they can be a bit too much. You're right in thinking that it'll just take some time to get used to. Sometimes it is nice to just have the time to sit and talk with her though. Before, between my work and hers, we didn't ever talk and now we get the chance to do so every once in a while. Just remember, you always have your bedroom to retreat to if you need to. Without mine, I very well would have went crazy.

My mom also lost her job and the only way our family is living is through wills that we acquired. I can't accept the loss either because it is a different life and I really feel that it's not something that I deserve. But I understand and the best thing to do is what sic said

Alot of us are not happy about changes i know i am. I think tho you should realize that things do change and it doesnt mean its bad.. Your mom has a very hard and stressful job i am sure (my mom is an ER nurse) and i will sit and listen to her vent some and talk to her so she can release it. i think thats important to do for every1. its not just complaing but people should be able to express their fears/concerns and there hopes too. Your mom may need some additional help too, and if you feel ok with it talk to her about your feelings too.. not so she knows you dont like the change but how it makes you feel and you have worries. Maybe you both can help each other some!
I think back to the changes in my life and i think then i have set up negative feelings and thoughts when i should have been more open. Look at this as a time for your mom to be around a bit more and for you to appreciate each other, even tho in my case as much as i love my mom sometimes i want to just slap her!! LOL but then who hasnt felt that way! good luck! just keep an open mind ok! |
