hi, im 13 and i have been fat or big my whole life because i have an underactive thiroid etc. anyway this year i have managed to go on a massive diet and went from roughly 110 kg to 80 kg in the space of about 6 months. (remembering that i am rediculously tall for my age being 6 foot something). this massive loss of weight has given me a large amount of loose skin all over my body especially in what used to be manboobs and my stomach. since i lost the weight i have been doing a bit of weight lifting to pull the skin on my boobs tight again and sit ups to do the same to my stomach. i was wondering if their was any exercises, weight lifting etc. i could do also the really quickly pull the skin all over my body tight again?

when you lose weight pretty quickly, that tends to happen, where you get loose skin...
anyways, you're only 13, so this shouldn't be much of a problem than if you were a 50-year old who lost a lot of weight. your body should automatically regain its elasticity overtime through the process of dead skin removal (remember that the outer layer of your skin is made of dead skin cells). when you get older, this process slows down a lot, so that's why it's a good thing you are still really young. for a faster treatment, what you can do is exfoliate your skin in the shower, and use a special cream that can tighten the skin. i'm not sure of any examples of creams that can do that, but I'm pretty sure they have that. |

You are lucky you have age on your side, Time and TLC are the only things that will help, can take a few years for your skin to get to the tightest. The only other alternative is surgery.

There isn't an easy way to make your skin tight again. Loose skin is a common result of major weight loss. However, keep in mind that you're much better off without the extra 30kg but with some loose skin than the same amount of skin and an extra 30kg. And you should be very proud of yourself for losing 30kg--that's quite an accomplishment. I'd recommend talking to your doctor about options for tightening the skin if it's something you're really interested in; he or she may have some recommendations.
