Default could this be a SERIOUS problem??

Basically, I woke up this morning and a patch of hair was missing from my right eyebrow. I totally freaked out at first, but then penciled it in and it was fine and didnt show-- but still, I have no idea what happened?? I did NOT pluck them recently and they were perfectly fine when I went to bed, but then I woke up and there was just a gap right in the middle, toward the end, of my eyebrow. I researched it and apparently conditions like alopecia (hair loss) and thyroid problems can cause this so I´m really scared now! I looked closely and there seems to already be some stubble where the gap is, but this is just so perplexing to me and now I´m freaked out that the whole eyebrow is going to fall out or something. I would have woken up if I had torn it out myself while sleeping right?? And I don´t sleep walk so it´s not like I went and got my tweezers or something.
Helllllp! Thank you

Are you sure no one shaved it as a prank?

eyebrow hair tends to fall off really easily from my experience, but it sounds like someone did a prank and shaved it off, idk that's what it sounds like though

To everyone above, no, it was not a prank and nobody shaved it off. I only live with my parents and my door is closed at night so I would have heard if someone opened it and came in... still so confused and worried! =/

First, take a step back and realize something. You're neither capable of being objective and, as far as I'm aware, aren't well informed in health sciences at all. Because of this, don't needlessly scare yourself with the idea of all these diseases and conditions that you could have. Self-diagnosis is a stupid idea, plain and simple. Don't take this as me telling you that you're stupid, I'm just trying to make you understand that you're scaring yourself for no good reason.

Hair falls out all the time. Cells die and regenerate all the time, especially hair cells. When the hair cells die, the hairs falls out not too long after. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that you had an area of hair where the cells died and you rubbed your eyebrow while sleeping which caused them to fall out. Or, while sleeping, your subconsciously rubbed or pulled that area for an extended period of time and the hair eventually fell out.

This message was totally not written by Malevolent, btw.
