kind of like a crap but hurts alot more usually in your thigh or calf

They are produced in your calves as a result of not having enough calcium and potassium in your system. They are usually very painful because the nerves tighten up and restrict themselves from moving. The best way to rid oneself of this painful happening is to stand up straight in order to stretch out the muscles that are cramped.
