Cry My lack of motivation is hindering me :(

I'm a smart girl, so I should be making all A's and B's. I even used to be in advanced classes. But starting in like 8th grade, when you start to get harder work in larger quantities, I began to fall behind. Now I'm getting like 1 or 2 A's, 1 B, 3 C's and a D. I just don't want to do the work. I say, "Oh, I'll do it at 5 o'clock" or "I'll do it when I get home from school", but then I just...don't. My grandmother is so pissed off at me and won't get off my back about it. And my school has an online program where you can check grades and missing assignments, and she checks it almost religiously. What do I do?

You... don't procrastinate. You have to force yourself to do your homework and study. Find some way to reward yourself if need be.

Do you homework in segments, you don't have to do it all at once. Thinking you have to do everything at once, the maths, the english, the science, the history all at once can seem daunting. Since it seems like so much work, it's natural to want to put off doing it. Break it down into pieces. Have maths done by 6:00 English by 8:00. Whatever works for you.

also pisses me off, as your marks drop and your grandma harasses you im guessing that makes the stress even worse, my mom doesn't realise bugging me about grades just makes it that much harder

anyhow your in grade 8, its just going to get harder.. i thought you should know.

but you sound like me procrastinating alot me personally atm not doing to well in school either but just get all the work you havent done yet or missed complete it all and hand it in for extra marks that works the best, study for tests its pretty straight forward just make your marks better. if your smart like you said it should be no problem (:

I know the feeling, but if you can get yourself to do the work the night it's set then you end up doing smaller amounts of work and you don't fall behind.

It makes you feel better as well when you know all the work you've got to hand in has been done

You probably have already correctly assessed your situation and developed what is likely to be the only viable solution: Work harder at making yourself study more.

If you personally know that you are fully capable of getting more A-grades than you currently are, you've effectively called yourself "lazy." Even so, it takes an admirable amount of self-honesty to admit that this is the reason your grades are less than desirable. You've taken the first step by admitting to yourself where you are lacking. Now, do right by yourself by beginning to push yourself to your fullest potential. By the time you are my age, you will be thanking yourself.

Try not to procrastinate, I know its hard as I am also little of Procrastinator. First think is reward yourself after you complete your work. Like For example, you won't watch your favorite show until you don't complete your work. After you complete your work and watch that show you will get more satisfied. Take a break while studying for long hours like go on a walk or hear some music.
