Default TV Tax?

So how do you feel about the whole TV Tax thing? Are you on the broadcaster's sides or the cable companies sides. Discuss?

I'll post my feelings later don't have the time now lol

TV Tax? Is this the thing that CTV has been fighting for?

the tv networks want the cable companies to pay more for their channels to pay for local programming. The cable companies argue that they don't have a choice to air the tv networks channels because they have to by law. It will raise cable rates roughly 10 dollars a month instantly!

i thought it was like this... we pay taxes for local tv already (so it should cost nothing else) and pay cable companies to broadcast them to us if we subscribe to them but the cable companies dont pay the local tv stations anything. now that local tv is in trouble they want the cable companies to pay them but they will have to charge us more because they dont want to lose money. we should be mad at cable companies not local tv.

why should we pay for something thats free over the air right now? and why should cable companies have to pay or something that they are required by law to carry? The broadcasters should be lucky they get all those extra viewers thanks to cable. the broadcasters are the bad guys here

Whatever Rogers is for, I'm against. I hate Rogers and Bell with a passion - they are two of the worst companies in Canada, and I trust that everything they say is sinister.

Rogers doesn't stick up for consumers. They give them terrible service (Canada's internet connections are actually the worst in the developed world) and charge excessive amounts.
