Well, in Arizona at least there are two different "grades" of pot.
Reggie which is cheap and not that strong. Chronic which is more expensive and stronger. There are so many different strains of pot out there it's hard for me to figure out a way to explain. Perhaps the biggest difference is between indica and sativa strains. http://hightimes.com/entertainment/ht_admin/1670

Any answer you get regarding street names - like Logan gave - is going to be useless, since street names vary so much, especially in references to grade of marijuana. For example, "dro", which technically should mean hydroponically grown marijuana, is now a stand-in for anything fairly good on the streets of America.
There are no standardized descriptors for grades or strengths. The only really fundamental demarcation in marijuana is that between the putative different "species": indica and sativa. There are many differences in terms of plant growth patterns and plant preferences, but those are only important to growers; for the user, the important difference is that indica will give you a sedative high - the "couchlock" you here about - while the sativa high is much more cerebral and energetic, and therefore preferred by many medical users. However, unless you have an excellent supply and know a lot about the multitude of individual strains of marijuana, you will likely almost invariably be smoking indica. There are thousands of different strains of cannabis, as breeding can produce genetic variation in cannabis plants as in anything else, but the variations between strains tend to be small when comparing across strains of like quality grown with similar skill.
