Default Highschool

I'd like to know more about high school and teen culture in America. How do you guys spend your ordinary day, and what is the life like of an average American teen, A jock & A prep?

I really don't know how much you know about this topic, so I guess I'll start with the basics. There are four years in high school: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior, in chronological order. Classes typically start around 7:30 in the morning, but this number will vary depending on what high school you attend. Most schools have around seven hours in one school day (some schools have block schedules, but my high school doesn't, so even I am not fully sure how these work), with a lunch scheduled somewhere during the middle of the day. Classes usually last for around an hour, and school lets out at around 3 (again, dependent on what school you go to).

Everything during the school day itself is typically the same for every 'clique,' other than the individual classes that students sign up for... after school is where things start to differ a little bit. Jocks will stay after school and practice their particular sport for about two hours, depending on the sport that they play. I play soccer, baseball, and golf, so I'd say about 75% of the school year I'm staying after school for practice. Preps who don't play any sports may join after school clubs like a Spanish Club, Math Club, Biology Club, etc. (there's a Super Adventure Club at my school ). Of course there are always those who just go home after school and do whatever they please.

Here's some additional information that might help you get an understanding of the typical school day for an American high school student:

My school schedule (sophomore year)

Hour 1: Chemistry
Hour 2: Sophomore Language Arts
Hour 3: Study Hall
Hour 4: AP European History
Hour 5: Entrepreneurship
Lunch
Hour 6: Spanish III
Hour 7: AP Stats

Typical Schedule After School

1) Soccer practice for about 2 hours until 5.
2) Go to a friend's house to hang out, or go home and do whatever.
3) Eat dinner.
4) Do homework until about 9.
5) Do whatever I feel like.

Hope that helps.

Very redundant
same thing everyday (except the fact that there is A day and B day)

also I don't fall into any stereotype group. I'm my own person. Like a rocker, jock, gangsta, smart yet a slacker mix. Lol
