Smile Boy or girl?

When you have a child (if you ever do), do you hope for a son or a daughter?

Well being gay, I couldn't personally hope to have a biological one, but if I ever consider adoption it'd probably be for a boy, just because I'm not fond of girls, I wouldn't pick a boy child over a girl child in any sick sexual way, so that wouldn't be the reason for picking a boy.

No preference for one over the other.
It's a nice thought to think I'll have at least 1 girl and at least 1 boy, but really, gender doesn't matter to me.

Are you not fond of girls because you're not fond of their gender rules/socialization, or what?

Being completely honest, I'd probably do better with a son...just because I know how it was to grow up as a boy, and I'm better with traditional gender role stuff.

That's not to say I'd be disappointed if it were a girl.

this. i mean, i'd like to have common interests with my child in addition to being their parent. obviously it won't matter until they get to around 7 or 8 years old, though. i'd be happy with either, but i'd like a boy. and only 1 please

If I had to pick one or the other I'd probably say a boy, because I think raising a girl would be more stressful for me (with the fear of her becoming a slut). haha

Yeah, it's a double standard but whatever.

Actually girls are more likely to graduate high school and college/university than boys. Considerably more. And they're far less likely to commit a crime, go to jail, or die as a result of violence than boys. So I'd easily consider boys to be more high-risk than girls if that's your reasoning for preferring one gender.

And males are just as likely to become sluts, and there is a much higher proportion of boys growing up to be homosexuals than girls (if a parent were to find that undesirable, totally wrong, but still quite prevalent in society). Apart from that, I think homosexuals for the most part have it harder than heterosexuals when it comes to getting established and respected in the dating world when they're still young (which could carry additional emotional/physical risks).

Sorry I have to.

I'd want a boy, but if I got a girl, I'd still be happy.

I'm not interested in women, in more than just the sexuality sense. So a boy.
