Can a 13 year old boy get a job? I want badly because i need money to get the things i want and my mom doesn't buy anything for me unless it's like food.

yes you can if you live in the uk but there are hardly any places that will take you on
I have the same trouble!
But you can do babysitting which is good pay i do it once a week and get £8 for one and a half hours, so about £5 an hour, or £20 for like 6-11 kind of thing.
It's easy too coz you just sit and watch tv and eat and drink their stuff maybe have to tuck them up and read them a story every now and then

If you are from the UK or Australia, then I think you might be able to work, but I would defer to our friends from those countries. However, if you are from the United States, then child labour laws would definitely prohibit someone of your age from working. With that being said there are still jobs you can do where you get paid in cash which can include the following:

1) caddying at a golf course
2) doing yardwork for area neighbours
3) babysitting (yes, this is a job that is for either sex)
4) housesitting
5) dog walking/pet sitting
6) running errands for seniors in your neighbourhood
7) paper route

You do have some options here, but keep in mind that in light of this horrific economy in the United States that jobs may be scarce. My only other suggestion, if you are so inclined, is to volunteer as many times you can get great skills from volunteering which can carry over to jobs, and you can get some wonderful references. Besides that, if your school has volunteering as part of your graduation requirements, then it is best to get that task out of the way now so that you are not doing a tonne of hours later on. Finally, parents generally look favourably upon their kids being productive and active and not spending hours in front of the televison or the X-Box, and you might be surprised that your parents might be more inclined to your requests if they know you are volunteering someplace where you are gaining a skill.

In the US, a 13 year old cannot be "officially employed" in 99.99% of the cases. It does not mean you can't try to make a few bucks cutting your neighbor's lawn...
