Default Question to those in the UK :)

I recently did a short tour trip throughout Europe and fell in love with it and am planning a working holiday in the UK in a year or so. I'm not planning to do it in London though, It was nice to visit but It's not really the place I would want to live in. I'm just wondering what are other nice slightly smaller cities to live in? I've heard Manchester and Bath are both really nice. Any advice would be great

Brighton. Or Leeds! I'm from Leeds so obv I'm biased but seriously there are a lot of Aussies that live in Leeds, so it must have something about it haha.

Come to Wales. We've got rain and socially deprived areas.

God hates figs:
Quote:
Mark 11:12-14 (King James Version)
12And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Depends what you like.
If you are looking for historic cities I would recommend a County Town, like Stafford, Chester, Worcester or Warwick
If you're looking for more life I would recommend the bigger cities Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool.
Or you can have tiny cities like Lichfield, which is just a small town with a Cathedral. It's my favorite city
If you want any more info on the Central cities or towns like Birmingham ask me

I second manchester.

I vote Oxford

Quite a lot to do if you're a sight seeing person. The city itself is rather nice in terms of architecture, and still has pubs and clubs if you're wishing to indulge in that sort of scene. Theres also Blenheim palace quite nearby, Didcot steam railway, even Warwick castle and Windsor castle are both just an hours drive away. And in terms of location its not too far away to get to either London, Birmingham or a further north city if you wished to do so at some point.

Since when has Devon been a city?! Its the largest county....

Anyway, smaller cities are always nice. Plymouth, Bristol or Oxford are all ones I'd recommend.

The largest County is North Yorkshire. Devon's actually fourth largest

I totally agree with anywhere around there, they're fantastic places to live - there are many places around there which are fairly quiet as well, like Christchurch and Ferndown, and of course places nearer the town like the outskirts or Dorchester.
