DT,
I am very sorry to hear about your uncle. I know it is frightening to see someone that you love go through the treatments and the turmoil that cancer causes. I have been through something similar & I think the best thing that you can do is be there for him, tell him frequently that you love him, and (this seems like a small thing, but is not) touch him.

With my aunt, she loved to hear me tell stories regarding my memories of her when I was younger. For instance, she gave me a book when I was in third grade & that is still one of my most treasured gifts. It opened me up to the world of books. Also, a trip to Six Flags together. She told me "Sweetie, we know that this cancer is gonna kill me, but it makes it easier to know that I made some good memories for you."

Her comment meant a lot to me, too.

take care,
red

Cancer is indeed terrible, and I hate that you had to be affected by it in that way. Best wishes to your family.

Remember that the person it hurts most is not your uncle but you, remember this.

You suffer more than he does, and cancer is always a tough thing, but atleast he had chance to say goodbyes and finish his life off, he didn't die suddenly without a goodbye.

Good luck man.

I did not realize that he lives so far away, but you can still call him & let him know that he is special to you. It will make both of you feel better

I know how you feel. My family has had a history with cancer. I have lost my grandma, grandpa, and uncle to lung cancer. And my aunt just recently won her battle with breast cancer, and another uncle is currently battling prostate cancer. I remember what it was like to see my grandparents and uncle go through that and it was hard, but just remember that no matter how hard it was. But remember no matter what happens that you need to just enjoy the time that you have with your family. And if they do pass that there in a better place.
