Man accused of travel for sex with mom & baby

MEDIA COURTHOUSE — A married New York father of a 3-year-old boy was charged Wednesday with soliciting sex with a mother and her 14-month-old daughter, a relationship he hoped would be “a long-term thing,” according to authorities and court documents. (See video at end of story)

“This is as disturbing as it gets,” Delaware County District Attorney G. Michael Green said in announcing the arrest of Anthony C. Taylor.

Taylor, 48, of Isabella Avenue in Staten Island, was jailed in lieu of $750,000 cash bail, set at a preliminary arraignment before Magisterial District Judge David Griffin in Linwood, Lower Chichester. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 29 before Magisterial District Judge Walter Strohl in Middletown.

Detective Michele Deery, a member of the county’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, was working undercover June 18 when she entered a chat room, titled “Start them Early,” according to the affidavit of probable cause for arrest.

Deery was contacted by the screen name “Tonytsiman,” who asked, “did you just have a baby?” Taylor was identified as being the subscriber for the screen name.

The affidavit details conversations Aug. 18, 19 and 28 between Deery, posing as the mother of a 14-month-old girl, and “Tonytsiman,” exchanges Green said at a press conference he could never repeat.

In an instant message Sept. 14, Taylor told Deery he would be in the area and they agreed to meet in Middletown at noon Sept. 24.

“(We) can all lay around in bed all day playing and having fun ... all three of us,” Taylor wrote in an IM Sept. 22, according to the affidavit.

On Sept. 23, Taylor was in contact with Deery, stating he was in Delaware County a day early. He was arrested without incident in the parking lot of a business on West Baltimore Pike at 12:15 p.m.

His white Lexus was seized for a search.

In one exchange, according to the affidavit, Taylor spoke of his marriage, and asked Deery about the father of her daughter. Taylor told the undercover detective that the part he liked, and missed, about contact with someone younger, was “control.”

Taylor indicated he would like to father a child with “a young one.” He spoke of knowing a 12-year-old girl whom he said, “comes over here n there.”

According to authorities, Taylor is employed as a computer salesman and arranged the sexual tryst while he was in Delaware County on legitimate company business.

Green praised Deery for her work with the task force, as well as the assistance of the New York Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

A New York detective confirmed a photo Taylor e-mailed to Deery matched his New York driver’s license.

Taylor is charged with criminal solicitation to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, criminal attempt to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, criminal solicitation to aggravated indecent assault, criminal attempt to aggravated indecent assault and criminal used of a communication facility.
