I don't know if this member lurks the forums (only one post), it might be worth sending him a PM. He's the only native Hungarian I have listed in my diary.

We're always welcoming language lovers and learners over at Wordplay!

He knew she was there by the rapture and the terror that seized on his heart. She was standing talking to a lady at the opposite end of the ground. There was apparently nothing striking either in her dress or her attitude. But for Levin she was as easy to find in that crowd as a rose among nettles.... The place where she stood seemed to him a holy shrine, unapproachable, and there was one moment when he was almost retreating, so overwhelmed was he with terror.... He walked down, for a long while avoiding looking at her as at the sun, but seeing her, as one does the sun, without looking."

Why do you want to learn Hungarian? Why not French?

A lot of people are intimidated by Hungarian because of its reputation as being a difficult language for native English speakers to pick up. I've personally never looked into it.

However, it is spoken by a good 15 million people and opens up another pocket of the world to those learning it.

Hungarian is a very tough language, good luck learning it. I know a few words, but I can't find any logic in them.
