Default How can you put up this crap?

See, my uncle Kirk is a wonderful guy. He reminds me a lot of Peter Parker (AKA Spiderman). He's a total genius, he's got looks, and he's got a heart of shimmering gold. But he so quiet and socially withdrawn, has zero self esteem, and he lets people treat him like a freaking doormat.

The sad thing is, he's in his late 40's now, and he still has yet to find true love.

For the last 10 years or so, he's had a very stormy on and off relationship with a woman named Cindy, who has a daughter from her old marriage to a man who physically abused her.

Several times over the years, Cindy has left him. And every time she's done it, she would be sure to completely trash his house before leaving. But then as soon as Kirk would get the huge mess cleaned up and get life back in order from the breakup, she'd come right back again with her daughter acting all sorry and crap.

Even in the early days of their relationship a long long time ago, no one in the family liked her or her daughter because they were so awful to him. She'd always verbally criticize him and put him down in front of others. He'd work his butt off every day at the pharmacy while they went out and spent his money, or sat at home doing nothing useful. Every day he'd come home to them constantly belittling and insulting him, and there'd be rotting food sitting around the kitchen, and pet messes on the rug somewhere, and garbage scattered all over the floors. Things only got worse as time went on, especially as her daughter grew into a teenager and turned into a real brat.

But guess what? Kirk never said a word. He would clean up everything all by himself without complaint. There's a lot more to it than that, of course, but I won't bore you with all the details. It's such a long story.

For all these years we've tried to tell him to ditch her, because he can do so much better. But he wouldn't believe it. He refuses to believe that he can get a better woman.

I guess their relationship has finally ended for good now, after Cindy locked him out of his own house while he was at work. He's living in a small apartment in Goderich now working at a local pharmacy. We're all pretty pissed that he lost his own house like that, but we're glad that woman is finally out of his life now.

I just find it absolutely mind blowing that he put up with her crap for 10 years. Less than 1 in 10,000 men would tolerate that from a woman. But unfortunately, Kirk is one of those that falls into the minority. He's let this Cindy wreck his life. Yet I can't help but feel so, so sorry for him.

Your uncle is definitely one of those people who take absolutely that's thrown at him but never reacts. I've known quite a few people like that over the years. It's sad, really.

He should get his house back. He payed for it, he owns it. She treats him like trash and acts like a pirate taking over a ship and locks him out of his own home.

There's nothing anybody can do if he allows it though. If he wants to give them the house, it's his choice. It's a bad choice, but it's a choice he has to make for himself.

At least they're out of his life now. He can finally start to get his shit together.

He's in his 40s you said and without true love. He thinks he can't do any better. I mean face it at 40yrs and not even a good girlfriend people loose hope. I knew a guy like that once, whos about to push 50 right now. Or he's 50 already not sure because we stopped speaking.

This commonly happens to older women too but just because its more on the womens side doesn't mean one or two men can't/don't feel the same way.

Isn't there a way you could like, give him a tiny push? Like put his picture on a free dating site like mingle2 and put a nice picture of him & good description of his hobbies. Maybe he'll pull a nice girl and not someone like Cindy.
