What's stressing you? College workload/stress in general? Or is it because you are stuck in a degree you may not like? If the latter, then you will need to speak to an administrative staff as soon as possible to see if you can transfer, or other ways of getting the degree you want.

Oh yes. College has stressed me out significantly. Actually, the biggest stressor is money for me. My school is so damn expensive that I'm racking up so much debt that I'm not sure if my artistic career will ever enable me to pay it off.

I'm not sure if it's college necessarily, or just an effect of my entire life, but last year I started having severe anxiety issues. It's why I stopped posting on here, really. I just got too wrapped up trying to keep myself from having anxiety attacks

Luckily my financial situation and the way the UK system is partially subsidised and with good termed student loands money isn't really a stress, its alot of money but its no different to a mortgage really and its on better terms, pay when i can afford and if i cant afford too, eg out of work than i dont pay.

The work has stressed me out at times, but nothing overly different to school, next few years will stree me out alot more, the next two years are what give me my degree classification, but i do tend to work better end stress.

I don't understand your degrees enought to give any advice on what to do.

University life can be stressfull, but it should never become unmanagable. If it gets to that point, you are simply trying to do too much.

While it may be important to eventually pick a program and stick with it, there really should be no rush to get done at an unecessarily fast pace. I would rather take 5-5.5 years to finish a degree if it means I end up with less debt and better grades..

I used to have the following in my signature:

Physics Major: "How does it work?"
Chem Major: "What is it made of?"
Engineering Major: "How can it be built?"
Liberal Arts Major: "Would you like Fries with that?"

And then some mod got pissed off. So I removed it. However, anyone who says that it is not true is a bit naive in most cases. I suppose the military might view all 4-year degrees as equal in terms of elibility for being commisioned as an officer.........but other than that....

In today's world, every sector has become a speciality. In the old days, there may have been only one standard of education for a Bridge Designer. Today, due to an increasingly technological and globalized world, there may be several different speciality fields in the bridge-design industry, each of which require a specific area of education & knowledge. A "General understanding of.." is simply not enough... This is why a liberal arts degree is probably not the best bang for your buck at the university....

Honestly, I'm not so sure that this was a compliment..

Screw the associates. Go for a bachelor's degree. Even the military...........home of LOTS and LOTS of really, really desperate people.........does not give a rat's arse about an associates degree. It may sound cruel, but it's true. Two year colleges are good for only two things:

1) Obtaining credits to transfer elsewhere.
2) Getting training in a vocational/technical field.

Even if you ended up graduating from the university with a General Studies or Liberal Arts degree, you would be miles and miles and miles ahead than if you had simply gotten an associates.

Best of luck to you..

Not always the case. You can actually get really far with one of those and make plenty of money.

True. Nothing is ever always the case. I am merely speaking in terms of hardcore statistical probability. Which reasonably can be assumed to strongly favor those with a specific degree program..

Additionally, I know plenty of auto technicians that make a ton of money. However, it would have been altogether pointless for them to go and get a degree just to be able to turn a wrench...

Yea college stresses me out at times with all the shit you gotta go through but its not too bad. I mean I enjoy going to Texas Tech and it is a lot of fun and it is good for me and all. However, I wish I could stay at school as long as possible since I hate working lol. But I know when it is time, the career I seek will not be no 9to5 paycheck to paycheck bullshit.

What's an associates degree?

University is supposed to be hard work, so a bit of stress is usual, I think. I definately get pretty stressed a lot of the time, you just have to keep working and get through the stressful times. Though it sounds to me your stress is way beyond what is normal.

I'm afraid I can't comment on your financial woes (I am always so grateful that here the government pays the majority of our university fees!), the thought of paying the amounts American students pay for their education really freaks me out, how is anyone ever supposed to pay it back!

What's a general studies degree? Do you not have to major at your university? Sounds like a pretty weird idea to me, to be honest. There are some jobs where any degree is good enough (as long as the grades are good), but these days I think most employers will look for something in the field you want to work in.

My advice is try and pick a subject that you like and see if you can credit your courses to a major in that. I'm afraid I can't really comment on whether a bachelors/associates is better, bachelors is the lowest degree we have!

Good luck!

That's super lol.
But you can still be a teacher with an arts major (depending on what course you did), not too sure if it's the same as general studies though.

I think it's equivalent to a tafe diploma in Aust and nz. One rank less than a bachelor.

I'll be leaving for college shortly.. I'm siked, but yet I'm scared. THe college put me in a single, and I really wanted a roommate, so that now I'm scared of not making as many friends as I would if i had a double or a tripple. I am also scared for not knowing my major.

I don't really know how to answer your question because I will be definitely stressed, and I'll just do the best i can to keep sane lol
