Cry Help!

Okay I have fair skin and it is usually hard for me to tan. Over the past few years considering the fact that ive spent a lot of time in the sun my skin has kind of adjusted to that and ive been able to tan a lot easier. I am really tan now since it is summer and 2 days ago this red small lump has just appeared on my arm. It really hurts to touch. The whole area around it is VERY tender. It is a bright pink/light red color and you can see the different shade from the regular color of my skin. At first i thought pimple, zit, clogged pore, etc. but it hurtss way to much to be any of those. Plus I usually can pop those or see a small dot where it would pop. This hurts to even try to pop. actually the skin around it is really tough. I am kind of affraid it is some kind of skin cancer. It doesn't seem to be getting better. I actually think it got a little bigger today and Im just kind of freaking out. I am not really sure what it is. It really hurts and its actually starting to kind of affect my whole arm. My arm will have a small shooting pain once and awhile all leading back to this lump on my arm. PLEASE HELP!? WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE?? ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR TREATMENT?!?!

I am considering a doctor... I just know my mom will think I am crazy just to see a doctor over a red bump. I usually don't freak about these things but the fact that it hurts so much is whats bothering me. And just the way it looks. So I am kinda unsure what to do. I already tried putting rash creams and such on it. It did nothing. PLEASE HELP!

** If size dimensions help: The lump itself is like 1/2" by 1/2" and the entire area where the skin is really tough but tender to touch is about 1" by 1" and again pink/ light red in color

THANKS!

DUDE. if u r concerned go to a doctor. I wouldnt wait. If ur mom laughs then she isnt being a mom. I personally have not had something like that. But it sounds kind of concerning. But i am not a doctor

welllll the only problem is i was going to go to a quick clinic where they can reference me to a hopspital or some place more serious if the problem was serious. but since im not 18 YET (1 more month) im not allowed to go by myself because of insurance and stuff, etc. I can't even drive right now since i dont have my car. so i need to convience my mom to take me. which i doubt she will since she doesnt find it to be a big deal.

** thats why i wanted to get peoples opinions on it first and see what they think it might be. again I thought bug bite or something else but its just too weird to be a bug bite. its a way bigger lump than like when u get a mosquito bite or something and hurts way more. its even starting to hurt when im NOT touching it. ugh.

Do u have any older friends? Or an aunt or uncle. If not. Then sit your mom down and convince her. If she still says no. I dont know whats wrong with her? A mom should care about there sons well being.

If you have your insurance information, you should be able to get healthcare without your parents being present. I went to doctor's appointments and the dentist several times without my parents before my 18th birthday. It would certainly help if the clinic you go to has your insurance information on file; if not, you may want to call to find out their procedure.

I'd recommend telling your mom about this and explaining that though it's just a bump, the pain is bad enough that you're considering calling the doctor. If the pain persists after a few days and is pretty bad, or if the pain gets worse and the bump grows, you should call your doctor. Your doctor can decide whether or not you need to come in, though you should keep an eye on the problem even if you don't go in.

Your fear of skin cancer is not out of the question, but there are many other possibilities as well, ranging from a rash to a bug bite.

It won't be skin cancer, and I wouldn't worry about it.

Mmhmm.

If it doesn't like like a spread mole, then it's probably not cancer.

well ive had it since Wednesday. I showed her it today and she was like holy crap! she was surprised to see how large it had gotten just from Wednesday. But, she still said i don't need to see a doctor. shes confident its a bug bite so she had me put some kind of medicated lotion with a bandage on and she said its just a bug bite. This will draw the fluid out. Except it hasn't. The thing still hurts and it has not gotten any smaller or softer. We thought it was leaking puss or something because we saw it on the outer-side of the bandage but it was actually just the medicine leaking through the gauze on the bandage. idk what to do

You're legally an adult. Go see a doctor by yourself.

Seriously dude, see a doc. I'm very fair skinned, so i have always used lots of sunscreen, but about a year ago i had a weird bump on my arm that slightly resembled a mole and was red and wouldn't pop. When i went to my doctor, he referred me to a dermatoligist, who that same day had it surgically removed. A couple weeks later after they had looked at it in a lab they found it was a pre-cancerous spot, and had about an inch by inch square removed. And i doubt its a bug bite, bug bites would likely have other effects on you as well as the pain around the area. So im saying it again- See a doctor, soon before its too late. It doesnt matter what your mom thinks or how you have to get to the doctor but if it is skin cancer, you need to get rid of it before it spreads.
