WHAT?!?! So today I was looking go online on my iPod and when I accessed it I found my fathers email was still open (he had been on earlier). So I knew I shouldn't but I was really curious. I scroll down and I see the headline MATCH.COM and I think oh ok so my dad gets junk mail just like me. I open the email and it says 10 new matches found. What?! I look at the other emails and I find he's been emailing some girl name carol. Now I start freaking. My mom just died in January, how could he be looking into finding someone new already? How could he do this? One of the emails even explain that he was never in love with my mother he was just trying to show me and my brother what a marriage looks like. Ugh.

It's a shitty situation, but don't read into it too much until your dad tells you it from his own mouth. There could be several underlying reasons as to his actions, and he'll tell you them eventually.

You need to think about a few things though;

• Although it does seem quite recent, it was 7 months ago your mother passed away. People deal with grief in different ways, some people recover faster than others.
• When he says that he never loved your mother, that could be lies purely to try and win some repport with the woman hes emailing. It could also be true, but you have to keep in mind this is quite common. Lots of marriages end in divorce these days, and the spark between your mother and father may have dissapeared before her death.

His father shouldn't use his iPod for his personal business and/or take the time to ensure it's locked away and not being pushed into your face when you load it up.

Also, whilst I agree with the point that he may have his reasons, I really hate how parents fail to discuss it or even tell the kids it's happening until it's too late. He has a right to know.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Just try not to go through your father's email anymore. You're invading his privacy.
