Bathtime Memories

I've been thinking about my life over the past few years, and I'm wondering if I'm the only person who remembers being naked infront of people, and being embarrassed about it. I really don't know why, but I'm horrified by the thought of people seeing, or talking about me naked as a kid. I remember taking baths with my cousins who were like 3, 5, and 6, but me being like 12, and the moms video taping it. I also remember countless times taking baths around the same age with the door open, and my older sister, aunts, uncles, and some of moms amd my sisters friends seeing me.

I honestly don't know if I'm more embarrassed about the nudity or the fact I didn't have a sence of modesty at 12. I even remember the day I discovered I was naked and cared, basically the day we were to bring in a baby picture for class, my sister picked out a picture of me in the tub at about 3, and mom said, he's naked, he can't put that one in.

Am I weird because it took so long for me to figure it out? Also, is it strange for a mom to continue bathing a kid even when he is 12?

Usually most people should be bathing themselves by that age. The only time any help might be needed is if someone broke their arm or something like that.

nope, you're not alone I remember it quite well, bathing with a cousin when he visited and my dad washing me...except for my private areas, he let me do that for some reason, at that age it wasn't an issue.

a person would normally bathe themselves by age twelve

right, to answer the edit, usually kids bathe themselves at 12, but its not unheard of for a parent to bathe their kids or bath WITH their kids at that age.

I took baths naked with distant cousins and relatives when they and I were like 3,4,5, and yes, my relatives took pictures, which they offered to show me on numerous occasions. AKWARD, lol. Anyway, by 12, most people take showers by themselves.

It's not uncommon for parents of young children, such as your cousins, to videotape bathtime. It's not too out of the ordinary for you to bathe with your young cousins, either, so long as you haven't started puberty. I would say that for everyday situations, most 12-year-olds take a shower by themselves. However, the cutoff for this really is puberty. As long as you hadn't started puberty yet, I don't see it as a huge deal that your mom was bathing you at 12.

Simple enough, You were young and werent shy or modest about being naked up until that point and your parents were open about it and knew you would grow out of it anyways which you have. So no harm no foul

Nudity has always been common in my family so I thought nothing of it until I began making friends with kids from other families and discovering how bashful they were- like having to wear a suit when they came over to swim.

I only know of two times bathing with other people.
Once was with my cousin at my grandparents house (she was a younger girl cousin, and we were like...6&3)
And then once with a neighbor girl who was a year younger than me (we were like...2&1 I think) we're still friends too

So at a young age it's not a bad thing, but by twelve...ew.
