Six Flags Magic Mountain, Drug Test?

I have an interview at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. i last smoked marijuana a week ago yesterday. i assume they drug test at 6 flags, but i doubt it would be on the spot before/during/after the interview. has anyone had an interview there or any other six flags park? if so, when, if at all, did they drug test you?

This doesnt go here and honestly it wont stay open in the correct forum. I will say that they probably do and it is normally the last thing an Employer will ask of you.

If you know you have an upcoming interview, and you actually intend to become employed at someplace..........I must ask............why would you gone and smoked the joint?

I am not a current or former employee of Six Flags, but to are large extent, most employers will operate using a similar chronological order:

1) You put in your application/resume.

2) The call you in for an interview, which 50% of the time means that the company is actually intending to hire qualified individuals...

3) You get a call back from the company saying they want you.

4) You immediately take the drug test.

Bear in mind that the drug test is not free. It costs the employer money for you to go and take it. Hence, it would be in the employer's best interest not to have you go and do the drug test unless they had decided they wanted to hire you.........which would be after the interview.

However, who is to say that they would not immediately want you to take the drug test right after the interview is over and you have been offered a job. If the agreement is that you will start working at that company more or less right away, then obviously they would most likely want the drug test done ASAP so that they know whether to keep you on or not.

I am not sure how Six Flags Parks work specifically, but if your potential employer is one that is a zero tolerance place in terms of drug use, then I would plan on getting a drug test soon after the offer of employment is offered to you. Usually within a week of the offer being given to you a physical is set up with a local occupational health clinic where the test is done. Also, don't try to come in with someone else's urine as there are usually ways they check for such things which I don't want to reveal online.

Basically, it was not the best move on your part to use drugs before an interview, and irregardless of whether or not marjiana is a hardcore drug or not the reality is that it is still considered a drug. If your drug test comes back positive, then I would not count on getting the job especially if Six Flags has a zero tolerance policy.

The Six Flags in Corfu, near where I live does random drug testing. I'll post more when I get back from work tonight.

Is drug testing for work a big thing in the states? Its rarely done here in Canada. Well for proper jobs like police and such obviously. I have never asked for a drug test before.

I had to take a drug test for my internship at a news station, so it's probably a bit more common than I would have given it credit before this.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I don't know anyone who get tested for drugs. My dad doesn't even get tested for his government security pass...

It's common in NY, I can't speak for other states. I know that we're exceptionally strict about that kind of thing, so who knows.
