If you believe in soulmates. What do you think would happen if you left the person you think is your soulmate? Or if your soulmate left you?
How do you think it would all turn out? I was inspired to pose this to you after reading a chapter in the novel Jane Eyre. I haven't finished so if you answer any of these questions please do not mention anything of the novel. In my heart, I have left someone behind that could have been my soulmate. I still think of him every day, but I no longer have sorrow. I've written a poem about him: its my favorite I've ever written; not saying its my best. Here it is http://forums.govteen.com/showthread.php?t=284182

I was about to add that suggestion in my post. But soulmates do leave each other sometimes. Everyone has a unique situation. So, I'm asking besides that, what do you think would happen?

I guess you'd have to move on, and try and find another guy/girl, but he/she wouldn't be your soulmate so you might not ever be completely happy.

I believe that you have more than one "soulmate" to begin with. In other words, any supreme being out there has back up plans.

Leaving is conditional, people. Because one left, doesn't necessarily mean that it was his/her choice, it could be out of their hands.

If I'm no longer with someone then they weren't my soulmate. The reasoning for the end of the relationship can be either personal or some other reason, but that means that we weren't meant to be together full stop.

I don't think that someone leaving you should rule them out as a soulmate. There has to be a reason behind said person leaving, and if that reason is out of their control, it's not their fault. Works the other way around too, even if you leave someone you can still love them indefinitely. I guess it all depends on how you define "soulmate" and since this is Kyle's thread maybe he'll favour me with an answer.
How do you define the term soulmate?

Sometimes things happen and soul mates break up. But usually, if they're really meant to be, fate always brings the two soul mates back together.

There's no such thing. There are simply people you're compatible with and people with whom you're not. There's nothing inherently special about someone simply because the relationship is working.
If you leave someone or someone leaves you it's because the relationship isn't working.

You would think that if you left the person, then that person probably isn't your "soul-mate".

I think true soalmates stay together nomatter what. I have 3 soulmates. My two best friends and ex boyfriend. Over the years there have been turbulent times, but at some point either I or them fought for the relationship.
Me and Ian broke up a week ago and have remained so close. We hang out, talk about everything and have MORE fun than we did together. I was apart from someone who I always considered a soulmate for 10 months and I was dead inside for 8 of those months. And just as I began recovering she approached me and since then we're back to our old selves. If I lost Ian or any of my other best friends, Im pretty sure that I would be far more devastated than them and spend the rest of my life worrying for them, missing them and Id feel near suicidal at all times. I really rely on my soulmates to keep me sane since Ive had a bad life when you look at it a certain way. But with them around I feel very blessed. I can definately confirm without these 3 special people I wouldnt be happy at all. And even though a relationship has broken up after 5 years, with him still as my best friend? Everythings fine. :-)
