A week or so ago I heard on the news that a tropical storm was going to hit the west part of Mexico (which I find odd considering that's the Pacific Ocean) and for people to reconsider going there via car...which is what I'm going to be doing. Anyone heard of any news about that?

It's been dead since June 24th. It barely hit Mexico, too.

Oh ok then. Thanks just wanted to clarify that since I'm gonna be the navigator and it'd suck if I had to scream the directions at my dad because of the noise of a mini-van flying towards us

And just to let you know, the west coast of Mexico gets hit by tropical cyclones pretty much every year.

Yeah tropical storms arent that big of deal really. We get them all the time in the Florida no one really even cares.

But when remnants of both Gustav and Ike made their way to central Illinois, that sure wasn't just a typical summer thunderstorm. The remnants were no lightning, all rain, but TONS of it. I like the storms that only last for an hour and a half and only drop about 0.75" of rain, basically they do their thing and then they leave, hopefully without destructive winds.(75 mph +) or hail over 1.5" in diameter which I don't think I've ever seen thankfully.
