I think it is because girls are more open about that sort of thing with their friends,
I mean I talk about shaving, masturbation, breasts etc with my friends
but I dont think most boys would be mature enough to discuss this seriously with their friends
so they look to the inernet,

I agree with Indirosie; boys are generally not good at talking about such private issues without turning it into a joke, whereas girls seem far more comfortable in opening up about their feelings and insecurities. The internet allows boys to discuss that which they want to discuss, but find awkward to.

i dont think it is true that guys are more self counscious than girls. i mean ...is there any evidence to suggest it?
i think it has much more to do with what Indirosie and Spin said more than anything - cos as most boys' only opportunity to ask the stuff they want to being on online forums like this, theres always going to be more guys than girls on forums like this when girls are open enough to talk to thier mums or friends about stuff like this

I would venture to say that girls are more self-conscious than guys. I hardly ever hear about guys being self-conscious to be honest. Girls talk about these things with one another, while a guy talking to another guy about penis size is considered "gay" and taboo.
