Default Diabetes Type 1 and Asthma

I went to the doctor about all these sores on my hands and nose not healing and now she seems to think I have Type 1 Diabetes. I don't get how these things are related? I got a blood test to find out and haven't heard back yet.
Then she listened to my chest and now I have to do this breath test thing twice a day for 2 weeks to see whether I'm asthmatic. You breath quick and sharp into this tube. My age + height I should be getting 416 l/m but I'm getting 200-350 l/m and no more ;l
Does this mean I'm asthmatic or what? I've had an inhaler for suspected asthma a while back but it was just a precaution.

So 1. How are non healing sores related to Type one Diabetes?
    2. Does my low l/m mean I'm asthmatic?

Also, the pills i'm on affect my birth control, they say take extra precaution but how big are the chances of the pill failing and becoming pregnant?

    1) Non-healing sores are a symptom of diabetes.
    2) I don't know if it means you're asthmatic, but diabetics do have an increased risk for asthma. You'll have to ask your doctor whether these results indicated asthma.

As for the pills, I would think the biggest risk would be too much accumulation of some particular substance in both of the drugs, or else some other negative result of the cumulative effect of both drugs. Of course, it is possible for some drugs to decrease the effectiveness of other drugs, and you'll want to talk to your doctor or your pharmacist about the details.
