This is the stereotypical "I can't dance" problem. I'm gonna be going to a lot of Sweet 16's this year, and I really need to know how to dance. Please, if you could try not to answer with "move to the beat", because I have no idea what the fuck that means.

Girls- Is it cute if a guy is reluctant to dance? Or do you like guys who are completely uninhibited on the dance floor?

Get a girl to teach you would be my suggestion. At least you have a number of parties lined up. Get your practicing done there, heh.

In all honesty, nobody really pays attention to what anyone else is doing. Just be fluid and relaxed and have fun.

If you really must, just copy the guy standing next to you.

google is your friend. you might want to check youtube too to see if there might be any instructional videos.

if not, just kinda shift your weight back and forth and snap your fingers with the music or something.

Answering your second question, I find gals and guys who don't feel like dancing, to be stubborn and no fun/boring. I don't find it cute in either genders, I would rather see them having a great time.
