Stupid Mistakes

Hey all, i have a question about math. On the tests, i always make stupid mistakes which brings my grade down a lot. These mistakes are really stupid, like i add wrong or something because i am doing it in my head. others are VERY stupidd, likeonce i had 9 in an equation and i wrote Y instead. another time i didnt write the answer in the answer blank. the last two were the last problems and i was hurrying because i was crunched for time, but the other times were in the midle and plain stupid and i missed them even after i checked my test.

what can i do to stop making these? i mean on quizes i redo every problem to check, but on thests i cannot do that due to time.

Math teachers expect that we be very precise by showing all the work when we are solving a math problem and they take points for every step we miss. You should get in the habit of working the entire problem on the paper and not your head, this way you are less likely to come up with the wrong answer and if you do, you can fallow each step to see where you went wrong.

Practice more those problems in which you do many mistakes, solve some practice papers. Time Mangement during the exam is most important, you need to solve the paper in such a way that some time is left for rechecking the problems so that you don't do mistakes, don't do hurry, solve every problem carefully.

Practice, dont rush, and allow to time to read over your work at the end.

Im gonna through a stupid mistake spell at the moment, but its wearing off. Its all down to lack of practice for me. After spending a year in Transition year doing no maths at all, comong back to it was a bit of shock to the system
