In my food packaging class, we have talked about intelligent packaging, and according to my prof. in NZ, there are pears that use this there:



I'm just wondering is this seen a lot there? Has anyone eat these before, and does it work? Have you seen other products using something like this?

I have seen that sort of packaging here, but I haven't ever bought anything that was packaged like that and I've never really paid much attention to what other things may be packaged like that.
