Default Jerry Klein's 2006 Radio Experiment

I'm not sure how many of you know/remember this, but back in 2006, Jerry Klein, on a Washington D.C. area radio station, following the flying Imams controversy, stated on the air that he believed that Muslims should be required to wear some symbol in public, that is an identifying feature. The phone lines immediately filled, and surprisingly, a good number of people agreed with the idea, including ones who thought that they should be put in pre-emptive custody.

This is an interesting parallel to Nazi Germany, it shows why some people in Germany would have turned a blind eye towards, or even accepted, the Holocaust. What do you all think? I think that the idea of Islamophobia is too widespread. People generalize and think that people who are Muslim are automatically militants who hate America.

There are plenty of other examples of this, and I apologize if there's another thread that brings this up, if so, please lock/merge this one, or if it belongs in another forum, please move it, but do you guys see this sort of problem going on near where you live? I know personally, my own family has members that are Islamophobic. I'm not proud of it, but I don't know how to approach it, so any advice on that as well would be helpful for me.

It's a better parallel to Japanese internment during WWII, since we don't typically talk of Muslims as impure and in need of a solution in the way the Nazis talked of Jews. We Americans don't liquidate people; we just occasionally get very afraid of them, take all their things, and put them away somewhere until we feel bad about it, let them go, and apologize a few decades later.

To be fair to Hitler, he did originally just want to send them on holiday to Madagascar.

It was discussed, yes, but it was always viewed as a temporary resolution, and he intended to annihilate the Jews after the war, either way, either by slavery or pure extermination.

And before you saying anything Alcon, yes, I know there was that one time we did liquidate a bunch of people.
