    Default Favorite skyscrapers

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, or if one of the art forums would be, but what's your favorite skyscrapers? Not sure if you think this is a weird interest but I do enjoy them. My favorites include:

    The Burj Dubai

Because of its extreme height, as well as the way it seems to gracefully taper up to the top.

    Taipei 101

Because of the way it manages to look like a pagoda, but still also a thoroughly modern skyscraper.

    30 St Mary Axe

    For its unique design.

    Petronas Towers

For their being connected, and the fact I did a project on them back in 8th grade

And, I can't forget the Empire State Building

Its unique design, as well as the iconic status it has achieved from its long streak as tallest building in the world, as well as a symbol of New York City.

    What are some of your's?

I really like Royal Bank Plaza in Toronto, because the windows are made of gold

(second tower from the right, as well as the shorter tower beside it)

1 million dollars worth of gold (probably a lot more than that now, because of the high prices) is mixed in with the glass, to give it a unique colour, as well as to help with heating costs in the winter and reflecting sunlight to reduce air conditioning use in the summer. I'm not sure if it's still true, but some years ago there was more glass in that building than any other skyscraper in the world because of it's corrugated shape. It may have been beaten by the Burj Dubai simply because of how large that building is.

Plus I always felt bitching when I went in there to bank

I never had heard of it, but now that I have, I wanna go do my banking business there too. It'd make me feel bitching too

I LOVE skyscrapers! I photograph them and I'm a regular poster on skyscrapercity.com

My favorite is the Comcast Center in Philly, the silver glass building 2nd from right in this picture. I would post a better pic to show you its awesomeness, but I can't right now cuz I'm on the phone.

I hate skyscrapers. Something about them just fills me with a sense of dread, like they're not supposed to be there or be that tall... there's just something ominous about them.

The Cheesegrater Building will be awesome when it's finished too

And for a foreign building, the Flat Iron building is great.

I like the Smurfit-Stone Building in Chicago because of it's diamond shaped top, I remember when I went to Chicago and saw it, I thought it was the best thing ever.

I also like City Hall (I believe that's what it is...) in Toronto. I remember I took an asston of pictures of it when I was there, the fountain in the front makes it cool too

I know they say you cant go home again, I just had to come back one last time.
Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam, but these handprints on the front steps are mine.
And up those stairs, in that little back bedroom is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar.
And I bet you didn't know under that live oak my favorite dog is buried in the yard.
I thought if I could touch this place or feel it this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here it's like I'm someone else, I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could just come in I swear I'll leave, won't take nothing but a memory...
from the house that built me.

The Shimizu Mega City will be cool if they ever make. Each of those small pyramids is the size of the Luxor motel in Las Vegas.

The leaning towers in Madrid are my favorite ones I have seen.

I like the CN tower because it's right close to me.

And if anyone ever decides to blow it up or something, I'll make it my #1 priority to hunt them down and murder them...

I've always thought they were quite ugly.

And I can't believe no one's posted the Chrysler Building.
