I went to my college's homecoming dance without a date and had a good time there; I dancer with a girl that's in the student government programme with me.

Personally, I've always gone to school dances with a date. I really see no reason in going otherwise unless it's with friends, which I have done before too. Once with friends. Every other time with a date. Never by myself.

I've been to one school dance without a date. Our 8th grade dance, which we were all forced to go to if we were in school. I just went and talked with my friends over near the tables, and watched some of the kids in the cafeteria "dance floor" grind on one another.

I've been both to ones with and without dates. To be honest, it doesn't really make much of an impact on me, they are really just another night out.

I've never gone to a school dance with a date in my whole life, and I don't think I would ever agree to.
It's so nice to just be able to mingle, hang loose and have fun with my friends, without having to worry about paying attention to a woman the whole night...
Wow, suddenly I want to go to a dance so badly. I haven't been to one for a VERY long time since my school situation has been so sporadic this past year...

Me, multiple times. I've declined quite a few offers though, so half of the time it was my choice to go alone.
