This is quite a community forum and I was just wondering why there isn't any introduction area?
Its quite common in other forums?
Anyone share my thoughts?

Because we have a lot of new members join all the time every day and it would just get spammy. Plus members are welcome to introduce themselves in the Countdown forum if they like.
Many, many new members join daily, and there really isn't a need for one, if you stay around and make solid posts, then you will get known.
It also would be hard to moderate.

The introductory forum is P10.....
The Communities actually works well for this, though most new people have no idea.

Introduction forums are completely pointless. Threads are created in such forums in large numbers, so after a while they lose their significance. Here's how introduction forums work: one person makes a thread, people don't even read the thread, those who didn't already leave the thread reply with a "Welcome!" that means absolutely nothing.
The best introduction you can make is quality posts.
No need to be a dick.
And there's no need for the forum. Would be the same people getting 50 posts a day by saying "welcome!"
This is more of a informational forum, rather than a community (with exceptions to diaries/countdown, which 9/10 users don't look at anyway) so people tend to come, ask their question and then leave when they have their answer. spammy.
