Wikipedia has a pretty good definition here.
Personally I think that if you want to hear some industrial music you can't get any better than Nine Inch Nails, they're an absolutely superb band. I suggest you start with either The Downward Spiral or Broken, both are challenging albums that take a lot of effort to listen to but the payoff is well worth it.ndustrial music is an experimental music style, often including electronic music, that draws on transgressive and provocative themes. The term was coined in the mid-1970s to describe Industrial Records artists. The Allmusic website defines industrial as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music"; "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments (tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation"

Rammstein is the best industrial imo.

Bad day, looking for a way,
home, looking for the great escape.
Gets in his car and drives away,
far from all the things that we are.
Puts on a smile and breathes it in
and breathes it out, he says,
bye bye bye to all of the noise.
