    Default Fast booting OS.

Are there any good, stable fast booting OS's out there?

I just need it to have web browser (with flash) and an IM client for MSN.

Would be better if it worked on a small 2-4gb partition and would have a boot up time of under 10 seconds?

    Thanks, Ben.

I'd try one of the Ubuntu (Kubuntu, Xubuntu, etc) from Pendrivelinux.com

They give you the details on the minimum size supported, install type, etc. I just tried it - got it up and running in no time, and on top of that, it was web enabled no problem.

Damn Small Linux. Or you could try Arch Linux. It's basically a "roll your own" type distro. Only install what you need. Boots very fast.

Ubuntu is fast. Boots up in less than 30 seconds with 1GB RAM.

On a side note, Windows 7 RC boots up in less than one minute on my IBM Thinkpad T41 with 512MB RAM!
