I was 16 when I got my first job. 16 is normally the age you can work without too many restrictions in the United States.
For most places just go in and ask if they are hiring or accepting applications. Then fill out the applications and cross your fingers. Job market is in the tank right now.

In Arizona were I am, you can usually get a part time job at Fifteen, but with quite a few restrictions. On the terms of getting a job, usually you can fill out an appllication on paper, or on those nifty little computer things that Walmart and other big department stores frequently has for people to apply. They may, or may not call back, so if your searching to get a job in a certain type of store or field, so try to apply at a few different stores.

I started at 15. But most place only start hiring at 16.
Bad day, looking for a way,
home, looking for the great escape.
Gets in his car and drives away,
far from all the things that we are.
Puts on a smile and breathes it in
and breathes it out, he says,
bye bye bye to all of the noise.

Usually, the minimum age is 16. However, these days, there seems to be an increasing number of places that want you to be at least 18.
You get a job by going to a place and saying, "I want a job. What do I need to do?" Usually, you will get a blank look from the acne-covered face of another 16 year old who will then hand you an application.
It is important that you realize that finding a job is not as easy as it sounds. You will probably need to fill upwards of 20 or so applications before you even get a single call. Don't let this discourage you. Just keep filling out applications at places.
Finally, don't be too selective regarding where you fill out an application. Usually, everyone else wants to work for the "cool" stores just as much as you do. Thus, you are more likely to find your first job at a food supermarket (or even a Mcdonalds) than at an Apple Store.![]()

My first job was working in a cinema. I was 18 and stayed their 6 months before moving onto something else.§
I'm 17 and have yet to have a job. As in what that thread specified that Shreyas mentioned, the best way to get a job is to basically go into an establishment and ask if they're hiring. Personally, I've gone into about 10-15 different places and have received the same answer each time: No. So good luck, I hope you have better luck than me.

Most people are around 16 when they can legally work (at least in the US.) The easiest way to get a job is if you know someone that can get you one. However, you can go into places that you'd like to work and ask if they are hiring. Most places will still give you an application even if they are not hiring at that time. Fill out the application thoroughly, and call the employer after you've turned it in. Many employers would rather have the applicant contact them to show that they truly want the position than trying to hunt someone down.
"But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one, the one sinner among us all who had the highest and clearest right to every Christian's daily and nightly prayers, for the plain and unassailable reason that his was the first and greatest need, he being among sinners the supremest?"

ok thanks for the replies, everyone. now, i am just wondering when you all did not have jobs, how did you pay for things if you had a grlfriend, because most dates cost money and if you do not have a job or other source of money, then how do you pay for it all?
You go somewhere not too expensive and you ask your parents for money if you have none.

yea i understand and that does seem like a logical approach but that ends up being u having a girlfriend and you parents payingfor het
My first job was when I was 16, cleaning the local YMCA during the summer after 9PM. Awful job, but I made decent money. I had a girlfriend, and at the time, she lived across the state, so with the money I didn't have invested into helping pay for a car, I used to go on trips over there to see and spend time with her. My mom would help some, but providing the car (she would drive).
Before I had my job, it was of course mommy to the rescue.
As of now, I have two jobs, and it seems to be ME to the rescue, since my paycheck pays for bills around the house, food in the kitchen and gas in the car. It's rather funny how life takes turns for the different.
Vai a farti fottere.
