There are reports of antipsychotic abuse... apparently because of their anticholinergic effects (like diphenhydramine) people take them to "space-out" but unlike antihistamines, you don't hallucinate..... you [as I would imagine] pretty much sit there, in outer-space, drooling on yourself.

Something to that effect. I've been Haldol'd before, and it's quite an experience. I didn't list it before... because well, I didn't take it for fun.

in the past ive been prescribed heavy depression medication for chronic pain as certain ones dull/slow the nerve impulses that were constantly firing. dont know if thats total bull or not. hated taking them in a regular fashion made me feel like i wasnt a person, but i kept them around to take recreationally when i didnt have anything else and wanted a day off from feeling. not a very healthy thing to do. ive also taken diphenhydramine but not with the intention of getting high, more to make myself pass out at night. but def take more than suggested dose.

the extent of my list is pretty sad to me.

Yeah... SNRIs and TCAs for chronic pain management definitely do not inhibit nerve signals, but actually increase them. They're psychoanaleptics, which produce an "arousing" effect upon the patient, as opposed to psycholeptics, which are inhibitory.

But by some mechanism of action the increased stimuli reduces pain for some people. I don't understand it, and I don't even know if modern medicine understands it in depth.
