Not dating a lot in jr. - high school hurt you in the long run?

I haven't been dating a lot since my peers have started dating, and I'm wondering if not having the same experiences might hurt me in the long run. If I wait to start dating, will it lower my chances of having a successful relationship with someone due to inexperience?

I never went on a single date until after I graduated from high school and I'm now in a two-year, nearly, relationship.

There really is no advantage to dating in high school other than you may have more confidence to ask someone out when the time comes. Most relationships in high school don't amount to anything and last for a couple months before ending due to a stupid reason or college.

I didn't start dating until I went to college and I've been with the same guy for over 3 years. Really just watching my friends be in relationships taught me a fair amount in high school without needing to actually date.

I didn't go on a date until 16, and not on another official one until 18. "Dating" in middle/high school isn't a big deal.

I don't think it has any effect on you "in the long run". I never started dating till I was 16 and could drive! It's worked so far for me! Either way, there's no real "age" that you should be dating by.

I never got a date since I was in high school. You know my mom is very strict about dating. I just got an access when I reached first year in college and guess what, I go all the way, almost everyday.
