    Default Upgrading Processor

I have an AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual core tk-53 1.7ghz processor at the moment.

Would it be safe to assume that any old AMD athlon X2 would work with my motherboard. assuming the size is the same?

and would I need to upgrade any fans/heatsinks even though there the same processor but running at different speeds?

God I hope that makes some sort of sense!

    Thanks,

    Ben.

    Default Re: Upgrading Processor

Any processor with the same socket (S1 (638)) will work. As for the fan and heatsink, it really depends on how strong the new processor will be.
