Well, you can't exactly ask us to not be mean if you want us to tell you how we feel exactly. Personally, I find America to be a country that is stuck in an imperialistic empowering mindset when the rest of the world has moved on to an economical mindset.
I also find America to be a country - although with good intentions - to be too involved in foreign nations' affairs when it doesn't affect them, and then gets angry at the rest of the world for not sharing in their views.

But on the positive side, I think it is a country that provides many opportunities for those who have lived in undeveloped countries and who are looking for democracy (which could also be debated)

And in regards to your comment about the best education in the world...I beg to differ. I've lived in the states and attended school there and compared to the other 4 countries I've lived in, the US had the worst, and it's not just me speaking, but also statistics. Just search it.

"Dumb people" is a world problem, not just an American one.

The United States has some of the best institutions of higher education in the world, according to most statistics (though I'm not sure that statistics on these types of things are ever particularly good since they try to quantify something that's so subjective anyway).

Also, with regards to primary and secondary education, that is a state issue under the way the U.S. is governed. As a result, there is wide variability. My school district is very good, and New York schools on the whole are very good. Other states don't have as well-run education systems. It depends on the school and the state. Also, AP and IB offer opportunities for very good educational experiences and rigorous courses. So while many people don't take those courses, they provide very good education for those who opt to.

Primary and secondary education in the US could be A LOT better. I just graduated from one of the best school systems and I think it still needs improvement, especially for the economically disadvantaged.

I think its a beautiful country, just dont like the people very much. They always seem very arrogant, especially when I was there. I know there are very nice people there but I generally dont like first world countries due to the greed for oil and money. America would have to be the most hated country in the world and thats something I would think is due to it being the most powerful countries in the world, the people and the wars America has been involved in.

I like America, especially now that Bush is gone but I wouldn't live there ever

Edit: I disagree with America having the best education, there are many countries in Europe and Asia with better systems

The slang term for the US in Cantonese is "old golden mountain" - in reference to the gold rush, it's "old" because it preceded the Australian gold rush.
The general attitude is that the US is full of $$$.

I would agree that the United States has some of the best universities in the world, the primary, and secondary schools are not the best. Nowadays most teenagers don't want to work hard and want easy money and our schools are dumbing it down so they can get through. Thats why we are now having to import jobs from China and India.

It's not the students' fault for a shitty school system.

Soorry to post here, just thought I would say this (don't get mad please)

I live in a small town in Ohio. The pubilc High School here is absoultely horrid. Numerous people have spent thousands of dollars in reform. The facility is nice and everything, but no one can seem to motivate it.

I however attend a private school in the same district. It's in the top ten of high schools in the country.

You can see the sharp contrast poses a problem, and a very unpleasant sounding solution. $$$money$$$

There are so many public shools with such a scarce money supply. It very clearly affects the system. My school, a Catholic private school with a century of wealthy donations, has a graduation level of 99%. The public high school, has a 15% graduation rate.

So, to throw in my two cents. Is there a problem with US education? Yes, and no. But the solution is something no one has right now(cash) : / I think the lack of motivation is a culture thing, unfortunately no politician can say that without getting mobbed by minority councils.
