And the media is silent. One can only shake their heads.

Though the recession and job losses were Bush's fault, the recovery isn't. He gets all the blame and none of the credit. *sigh*

Not that I think he deserves too much of the credit (it's the business cycle, people), but it was saddening to see all the blame directed towards him.

Presidents do usually take too much blame/credit for the economy.

He knew she was there by the rapture and the terror that seized on his heart. She was standing talking to a lady at the opposite end of the ground. There was apparently nothing striking either in her dress or her attitude. But for Levin she was as easy to find in that crowd as a rose among nettles.... The place where she stood seemed to him a holy shrine, unapproachable, and there was one moment when he was almost retreating, so overwhelmed was he with terror.... He walked down, for a long while avoiding looking at her as at the sun, but seeing her, as one does the sun, without looking."

Remember the touting of a net loss of 2.1 million jobs lost since taking office during election season last year?

The figure is now a positive 800,000.

Paying ones? Honestly I don't know. I'm sure you could find out...if you really want to go looking for a half an hour.

But we could gain many more jobs if only we eliminated the minimum wage. And our entire society would be better off. But noooo...

Actually, they'll grant people opportunities (like jobs) that are currently unavailible to them.

Think. Imagine if a business had a job in which the worker was worth one dollar an hour in what they produced. With current minimum wage laws, they might be able to only hire ONE person whereas if they were abolished, they'd be able to hire SIX. That means FIVE more people with jobs. Sure they pay less, but they're a job. They're work. For FIVE more people.

And, the employer is able to produce more stuff more efficiently, meaning in the long run, society will be better off.
    Bye.

who would take a job for less than min wage (with the exception of jobs where tips are the majority of the income)? i personally refuse to even take a min wage job (i turned down a job for min wage plus commission last summer). *ellitist snob...i know*

min wage is low enough as it is. heaven help us if they got rid of it.
