what does XD mean?

I've heard people on the internet and Gov say XD what does it mean?

It's a shorthand for a smiley--supposedly a laughing smiley. The X is the person's eyes, which are squinting shut with mirth, and the D is the open and laughing mouth.

No, "n00b" is mostly used for idiotic, hated new members. "Newb", however, is used with a slightly less negative tone towards new members.
