Now days new games like COD, Diablo and Sims are upward of $60+. Do you think games are becoming to expensive? What are your thoughts?

Don't even try to pirate your games here either; Australian download speeds are hella bad.

Yeah, I think a lot of new games are becoming just too expensive. It really puts me off buying anything when there's two or three titles I'd like to buy but I just can't stretch to buying all of them, and then I can't decide which one I actually do get. I tend not to buy games now when I'd probably buy way more if they were a bit cheaper.

Well here in the US games are about 60 bucks
everything peaks at 60 bucks except special editions or collections
They've been 60 bucks for the past 10 years i dont really think thier rising.
Games are selling way too much for Companies to raise prices. Im pretty sure Games sell more them movies now or at least very close.
Bf3 sold like 30 Mill copies in its first week
Mw3 made like a Billion in a day or something

I do think that games are a tad over priced, and with talk of them wanting to raise the prices, things are getting rough. The gaming world also wants to stop used games; this could be really detrimental. If they could be like around $40 that would be great.

The only thing that matters is that we have no regrets, right?

I do agree they are a bit expensive, but they haven't changed much in price in a while.

I personally think a "full price" game (i.e. the RRP of a new console game) is 40 excluding extras, and that's a price I'm willing to pay for the few games I buy at/near launch (unless I can see the price going down quickly, such as for a niche game). Given that game prices have been pretty static for quite a few years, I wouldn't complain too much if that price went up to 45, in the same way that 3DS and Vita games are about 35, from 30 for DS and PSP games.

However, I will admit that PC and mobile gaming have changed my perceptions. I'm getting more into PC gaming in particular now that more games are coming to Linux, and the Humble Indie Bundle (and others) is particular have made me rethink about buying games. I will gladly and wilfully pay $25 for these games, even though I could spend one cent, or nothing. Robert Florence (of VideoGaiden and Burnistoun fame) wrote a really good piece on this for Eurogamer a few weeks ago which is well worth a read.

Nope. Heck, I saw old posters advertising Tetris for like $120 when they came out. Fact is, with indie games as well, gaming is getting cheaper.
