    Default Mons Pubis

    *Ads Disappear After 100 Posts*
    Hey

I had some friends staying over wtih me last night and we were comparing eachothers bodies to eachother but when we were comparing our labias i noticed one of my friends mons pubis was really differnet to ours. ours were all pretty small and flat while hers was large and around like a hill and it sort of stuck out. Is this normal? she seemed pretty worried about it thinking it was an infection or swelling or something prob because us threes was pretty small. Is this normal or is us threes going to get bigger like hers?

    Thanks

I hope there isnt something wrong with her

Hiya Sarah thanks for asking this. Cos my mound seems to be like your friends, my friends and cousins are flat and their slit is almost all hidden down between their legs where as mine is a proper mound and my slit shows mostly out in front. And i have hardly any hair its plain to see most of my slit.

My mound is massive by comparison to my sisters (which is strange, you'd think same family=same mons pubis)...
people are different shapes and sizes, everything still works the same...
no reason at all to worry.

Maybe it changes after you lose your virginity. I heard something about that.

    This is from the-clitoris.com:

The vulva of preadolescent girls appears to be positioned farther forward than that of adult women, as you can see a greater percentage of their labia majora and pudendal cleft when they are standing. This gives you the impression that the vulva moves, rotates, backwards toward the anus during puberty. The vulva does not actually move. What happens is, the formation of this mound of fatty tissue causes the forward portion of the labia majora to be pushed out away from the pubic bone. When a woman in standing, this results in her labia majora being pushed downward, becoming parallel to the ground, and out of sight when viewed from the front. Women with very little body fat may not have a pronounced mons veneris, resulting in their vulva appearing to be located further forward than that of other women. The opposite is true of women with high concentrations of body fat. The position of the clitoris, and urethral and vaginal openings are defined by the bones of the pelvis.

ElisaB is right...it's usually an age thing, or it can just vary from girl to girl. The preadolescent thing is certainly true-like mine doesn't look to be all that far forward, but my younger sisters does. So don't worry.

Having sex doesn't change the way the pubic area looks.

I've heard of that before but with my own it seems to haven't changed at all from when I was younger. I have a little bit of a puffy mons but my pudental cleft (LOLz) seems to have always looked the same.

Mine is sort of medium size I think, because I used to be embarrassed to see it sticking out like in a bathing suit or whatever, but since I became conscious of it I've checked out other girls at the beach and stuff and seen some who have a bigger mound than me, and some who have a smaller one.

Losing your virginity has no impact on your mons pubis. It may break or stretch the hymen if it is still present, but it doesn't influence your development.
