    Default Penis and Clitoris

I was thinking, if the penis and the clitoris are essentially analagous to the opposite genders, why does the clitoris have twice as many nerve endings? Shouldn't they both have around the same?

Perhaps they do have about the same number of nerve endings. Where did you read that the clitoris has twice as many nerve endings?

The clitoris and the penis essentially do have the same amount of nerve ending. The foreskin being where most of them are actually located. So it would explain why to some degree, the penis isn't as sensitive as the clitoris is. Number one being that some boys are circumcised at a young age or they choose to be circumcised, and second, the penis is located outside of the body. Which means it would be less sensitive than the clitoris naturally.

The number of nerve endings on the penis and clitoris are pretty much the same. But the penis is more internal than the clitoris is, so girls have more nerve endings on the outer portion. Overall, though, they have the same number of nerve endings.

Not sure about twice as much, though. That seems way too high.

The penis and the clitoris both have around 4,000 nerve endings, but the nerve endings are all concentrated in the glans of the clitoris, making the clitoris more sensitive than the penis.

I don't know, but I assume that the male prepuce (foreskin) and the female prepuce (clitoral hood) would have about the same number of nerve endings also.

The head of the penis is pretty much equal to the clitoris. So the clitoris is more sensitive because all the nerve endings are packed into one concentrated bunch, while the nerve endings in the head of the penis are more spread out.

It's probably just because the penis is used to being in an environment where it is constantly being rubbed against, so the sensitivity sort of decreases to a certain degree over time.

I'm pretty sure that the clitoris and the penis have the same number of nerve endings. Although they appear differently on men and women, the penis and clitoris are anatomically similar in many ways.
