Ahhh I totally agree. The shower at my apartment just about flays my skin off and the one here is shit, it's like standing out in a light drizzle.

I was woken up this morning by a ridiculous french woman calling my cellphone. It was way too early (like 8. I'm on holidays. I barely walk up before noon when I'm in school, I should not be expected to when I'm off). I just hung up on her the first time after hearing her say "Allo?", then I ignored the second call, and the third time I picked up and said "wrong number" before hanging up. I am not nice in the morning

It is ridicacold out and I have to walk to the mall and do christmas shopping. Why must it be so cold? Snow should happen in warm weather.
Officially fabulous, and practically perfect in every way.

It was 2 degrees this morning when I got up to take the dogs out. Even my dogs were looking at me like "You gotta be kididng me." My greyhounds are all wearing their little wool pinstripe cold weather jackets, they look so cute.

Its basically another day inside with Ethan, raiding the wine cellar and lounging on the couch watching specials about Disney World on the Travel Channel. Its heaven.

Last night we did go out to a movie - we saw "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." Good Lord in Heaven what a movie. Best movie I've seen this entire year, but also one of the most afecting movies I've ever seen in my life. It ends and you just sit there unable to move. Its not a Holiday movie, thats for sure.

Im not looking forward to it. I'm going to apply to like 12-15 med schools and 10 public health schools. I have to take the GRE this summer because apparently the MCAT isn't good enough for the public health schools. FUCK THAT!

I'm just sitting around today. Going grocery shopping with my mom later and then probably studying for a good part of the rest of the day, if the woman leaves me alone.

So. Back from work today at 3:15. Lesson to all: when the roads are shitty and icy as all hell, do not drive. There's a reason why it's called a TRAVEL BAN.

Oh, NYC. It was amazing. Mike took me to the touristy spots -- Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, East Village, The Village, Barnes & Nobles (I died then and there -- 4 stories of heaven), Grand Central, and a lot more. That was on Thursday.

Friday was more... stay home and make love day And we watched the Producers (with Uma Thurman, Will Ferrel, etc) -- LOVE it! Laughed my ass off, and almost broke a glass or two lol.

Saturday was... meh. Went into the City and went places. Got tickets for Jersey Boys -- standing room for $27? Hell Yes! -- and it was amazing. Mike and I danced along with the music lol.

Sunday was a nightmarish bitch going home. A 6 hour drive took me 9. ugh. Wanted to slap all the drivers who were speeding in the snow storm -- but then realized they were probably going to drift into the snow banks Glad to say that I made it alive.

And with that, I say adieu and the fact that I am in LOVE with NYC.

I will post pictures in the Album as soon as I figure how to transfer pics from this damn camera of mine.

so...i've decided michigan is out. deadline is too soon, and i don't feel like i, my recommendors, and the schools i went to can get everything done by the 31st.

this leaves me with ohio state and washington, and i've added texas (austin) to the list since its apparently quite free all said and done. i need something to replace michigan though. it has to be highly ranked, free, and someplace i won't hang myself from insanity.

or...my mom just ran into her old principal. he's opening the new high school relatively by my house, and said he'd hire her in a heartbeat. she said she had a 2-for-1 deal for him, since i'm graduating this spring and could fill an art position. major foot in the door, i imagine. i could teach for a couple years, get out of the probation period on the license, and then do a master's degree.

^^^at least someone loves new york. i can't stand it. i feel like the universe is back in balance again. i'll give it another chance, someday.

My brother left Rochester tonight to come back here for the holidays and he just slid off the road near Syracuse. He's stuck in a snow bank and waiting for the tow truck. We're not sure yet if the car is ok and if he'll be able to make it here or what. I guess there's lake effect snow and everyone was going 30mph but some car was going 10mph in the break down lane and tried to merge back in. Pat let off the gas to slow down but couldn't slow fast enough and so he tried tapping the brake a bit and the car lost control. Two other cars did the same thing because of that car that tried to merge in. People who can't drive in the fuckin snow end up making it dangerous for everyone else. I'm just glad he's ok but my mom's crying and its ugh.

Well, as often as I've said I want to live full time in London or Paris or Prague or anywhere, really - I realize very often that the place I prefer above all will always be New York. Its the capital of the world.
