I'm really worried!
*Ads Disappear After 100 Posts*
So 900 million IE users are vulnerable to the attacks of an internet hacker through a hole in Microsoft. They don't have updates to fix it yet and I can't seem to find the patch that's a temporary fix! I thought I'd be extra careful and download FireFox and use that. It says there's an error and wouldn't download it. I went and tried Chrome, same thing happened. This is details from the failed Chrone download:
Code:

Re: I'm really worried!
Obviously there's something wrong with your computer but you still have a lot of different options like for example you can try Safari or Opera if it wouldn't download any of these then check your firewall's settings

Re: I'm really worried!
It's downloading fine so far on my desktop but I can't get any sort of browser to work on my netbook.

No, Chrome is a viable option. As is Opera. Don't be stupid by trying to mislead the OP.

Re: I'm really worried!
I tried Chrome, Opera and Firefox and none of them would work saying the connection had been stopped by the user. I've downloaded something called 'Microsoft Fixit" which I found on the article about the hole so hopefully that stops any malicious hackers. I told mum last night not to use internet banking but she did anyway!

Yes, FixIt is the temporary patch. Once that's applied there's nothing to worry about. When the proper patch comes, just download it from Windows Update.

Re: I'm really worried!
Sweet. Any idea why NOTHING will download though? I can't even get a google toolbar, it keeps coming up with some connection issue. It's on BOTH computers. Is it because we're sharing an internet connection?

You'd have to be more specific.

Re: I'm really worried!
This comes up for all downloads;
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
