  1. Drawing Experiment (Cartoon Hands)

    by , May-06-2013 at 03:28 AM
I decided not to look at any references or examples of cartoon hands before working on this experiment. I used pencils on this piece and just used my own hand as a model. I did not want to add any details except for the main structure of the hand and I didn't even want to put any crease marks in the fingers, unless it was necessary. There are people who have a lot of lines on their hands, me included, and it becomes distracting when drawing. When I took art classes, I would always wonder which lines ...

  2. Drawing Experiment (Nose)

This one was a lot harder to draw than the rest. The nose has a LOT of values in it and a lot of lines that aren't completely distinct like the mouth and eyes. The mouth I didn't spend much time on and did it just to draw a bit. I think if I really studied up on the mouth, it might be a bit better, but the results are still fine. The mouth alone looks kind of creepy so I added pencils to make it less creepy to the photo. The nose alone (which I haven't done yet) kind of looks suggestive ...

I think one of the hardest things to do is fitting into a new group. There are so many unwritten rules that can make you crash and burn or make you fit in quickly. If you don't get what I'm saying, I'll break it down for you.

If you have joined a new site, you are considered a "newbie" and therefore, no one knows you. This new community will have various personalities that can make or break you on the site. If you are unopinionated and bland, not many people will take notice ...
