Oh shut the hell up. Big deal...take a damn chill pill. "OOOHHH...THE US CALLED US THEIR LITTLE BROTHER! OMG!!!"
Could it be because the UK is smaller than the U.S. and isn't as populated?

I've only ever heard the UK referred to as our greatest ally. I agree the "little brother" thing is kind of condescending.

Out of curosity, where did you hear this from? I have deep respect for the UK and I refer to them as britain and such, never that brother crap. They may be allies with us, but I don't think the usa and UK would survive long if on the same continent.

Um... there's a difference between population and population density...

Actually you can argue that point. Basicly every major decision that America makes affects the rest of the world in some way. Can France say the same? Britain? Russia? China? Canada?

Take a look at controversial issues; gay marriage for instance. I was really thinking more on the level of economic and political decisions... not controversies like gay marriage, abortion, or drugs. Things like that tend to be more localized.

The point I was trying to make was that in the past Canada would probably have banned gay marriage, marrijuana, gone to Iraq and a large number of things that have come up in the past few years simply because the US was doing it.
