Apple releases new iPods, expands iTMS

Yeah. The Red Click wheel is odd, but the new color screen looks nice. It also has better battery life! 15 Hours.

i think they should've replaced the 40gb with the new one, and added the 60 gb, and kept the price structure the same...thus, 40gb = $399, and 60gb = $499.

i realize its new technology, but $600 for an iPod, no matter its size or abilities, is absurd.

...But it's part of the whole "IT'S A U2 iPod! OH MY GOSH!" effect. fan people and such want the extra detail.

Meh, the U2 iPod is fugly. I guess the black is ok, but that red click wheel. Yuck! And the Photo iPod seems to cost too much. I don't need to be able to view photos, I don't care. But it's probably intriguing to other people. The color screen is nice though, but overpriced IMO. I'm happy with my 20GB 4G.

I think you will find it only holds them. I probably would just buy the Photo iPod b/c of the colour screen. Overpriced, but can hold up to 60 gigs, and it is almost a certanty some company will make a camera for it, which will probably clip on to it or something.

Yes, the prices are kind of silly for those new iPods, but I got my 4th gen 20 GB for only $269(with student discount) and I love it!

The U2 edtion looks like a huge ripoff to me, but if you're that much into U2, then maybe you'll like it. I like the idea of the photo one, but with such a tiny screen it's just not practical. I mean, you might as well look at pictures on your digital camera's LCD.

That's true, but my DVD player (and most DVD players, for that matter) can play photo CDs and cost a fraction of the iPod's price.
