Help me out, here! I seem to have panic attacks alot. I usually wake up in the middle of the night and freak out so bad beacuse I think someone else is in the room or house, or my imagination goes crazy. Plus, sometimes I have panic attacks in the theater. I get all clammy and sweaty and I breathe all heavy and my heart pumps quickly, or slowly. I don't mind them much because they don't affect mt daily life or how much sleep I get, cuz I'm usually only awake for an hour or so during these night attacks. Its just really, really annoying and creepy and I was wondering how to get rid of it.

Panic attacks are one of those bizarre things that seem to come and go as they please...and as ar as I know, they don't offer a medicinal or psychological treatment for it. You could try and get some relaxing things for your room..y'know, like a couple of those scented candles...things to help you relax a little more.
When you wake up thinking there's someone in your house...do you see them, at all? because this sounds very much like Old Hag Syndrome...when you wake up, you can't move and you think someone is in your house...and you see them coming to attack you...
It really is terrifying, but they do offer some stress relief things to help get over that.
Also, you said you sometimes get things like this in the Theatre...where's the theatre? What do you do there?

I have panic attacks too. I also have sleep paralysis, but it's not that bad anymore. Try making your bedroom a calm atmosphere, and don't eat or drink anything within an hour before bed. That might be the cause. Also, in the theater when you get panic attacks, close your eyes, breathe deeply. Get a drink, that might help too.

Well you're not the only one. Heh, millions of people have panic attacks. They're pretty damn common nowadays. I have extreme social anxiety, and I get the same thing as you, in a theatre.. resturant.
I know a trick to get rid of panic attacks. Yawn.. Yawn from the bottom of your stomach, a very deep yawn. It triggers something in your brain, and cuts them off. Do not fight Panic attacks, if they come.. Let it go. Fighting them makes it worse.
Hope i helped.

I have panic attack disorder, yes there is a treatment for it, usually people take anti-depressents. Not for depression it triggers something in the brain which turns off the anxiety. Go to the doctor if it happens often, it made my life a depressing living hell.
