My English teacher hates me, I am writing essays that would be A's for any normal teacher on our gay "reading logs", but she will not give me more than a B, am I in trouble for the rest of the year? or is there something that I can do about it.

talk to her about it, tell her that you think it deserves a better mark, and give her reasons why you think that.

i had a teacher like that it was horrible, but come to find out there are somethings you can do. dispute the common opinion of the class, agree with whatever the teacher says and try to relate everything to relationships and sexual ideas. it works, you will get better grades! :-D

Perhaps she's trying to push you further by giving a lower grade?

Your english teacher is the exact same as mine. What you've got to do is confront them about the situation or nothing will happen. If this dosen't work, fight back. As your doing this tell your parents what they are doing that's so bad. Get them on your side. My teacher has lost several of my assignments and is giving marks that I don't deserve. Pretty much B's. I'm still managing an A, but it'll be close by the end of the semester. But anyway, if fighting back dosen't work, get your parents to call the principal and get the whole situation figured out.

That's exactly what I was going to say. My junior year in high school, my english teacher was just like this. I was used to getting A's on all my English papers in the past, but she gave me mostly B's. It really pissed me off at first, but I made the decision that I would get an A in that class even if it meant that I had to put forth more effort. I really think that she made me a better writer because of it. Maybe your teacher just has higher standards than you are used to...it's possible that sees a lot of potential in your writing and thinks that you might not be putting forth a full effort. Maybe you could talk to her about it...a lot of teachers are willing to listen to a student's argument and possibly consider raising your grade if it is reasonable.

Yea, along the same lines as College Cutie. Even if she is a mean b*tch the fact that your having to do better than usual is good! It will develop you into being a better writer, and plus, we can always try harder. Good luck. :-D

A little something about me, this year, I transfered from a very tough Private school to a public school that is known to be easy, and looking at other kids' papers, I have learned that mine are better than the average person. She also took off points for reading 200 pages in a week instead of 100 for our "reading log"
Bullshit if you ask me

She also took off points for reading 200 pages in a week instead of 100 for our "reading log"I've had that kinda shit pulled on me when I went to a public school. Neway, ur problem with the teacher. Talk to a dean (principal, whatever) or the English department head.

I've had many teachers like this as well. i recommend like many others to talk to her ask what problems she thinks you have, and work out a way to solve them. If she refuses to talk to you, then you should consider talking to your parents /advisor/principal.

Urgh reminds my of my Computer teacher. He though I was too big for my boots and kept giving me bad reports, saying I was "arrogant" and "showed off my computer skills for the sole purpose of impressing peers". I just lived with it for two years, and tried my hardest.

Just talk to her and see her point of view. Some teachers have high expectations and what you think deserves an A to her see gave you the right mark.

i had a teacher like that. she hated me with a passion, and still to this day i don't know why. anwayz, i never got higher than a 75% on anything and i swear i have a couple papers in a row that were all 62%. i don't think she even looked at them cuz there were no corrections. they just said 62% on the page. i had her 2 years in a row (grade 9 and 10) thankfully i don't have her anymore. but i was going to take my paper to my older broz english teacher for her to mark it and see what i got. sadly i didn't... i should have tho. but yea... teachers can be so stupid and grade you a lot sometimes based on how much they like you.
